The Distributed Learning Program

ARNG TRD Emblem

The Distributed Learning Program (DLP) is the Office of Primary Responsibility and Program Manager for the Army National Guard Distributed Learning Program. DLP develops strategic plans and operational policies, and they plan, program, budget, and execute funds for the Program.

DL Branch represents the Program’s functional proponent (ARNG G-3), and works closely with the Program’s technical proponent (ARNG G-6) and acquisition activity (PD RCAS, PEO-EIS) to implement Distributed Learning in the ARNG.

The DL Branch uses Guard Knowledge Online as our main media outlet to provide contacts, file sharing, collaboration and extensive information about our Program.

The DL Program contains the following sections:

 Distributed Learning Development Center (DLDC)

Distributed Learning Development Center logoThe DL Program develops DL courseware at Camp Dodge, Iowa and Camp Robinson, Arkansas to support functional training, DMOSQ training, pre-mobilization training, and professional military education. We collaborate with Army and ARNG proponents to create courseware and gather requirements from units,  institutions, and States to ensure our products meet the needs of the Force.

Guard University (GuardU)

Guard University (GuardU) logoThe DL Program operates GuardU, a web-based portal hosted at Camp Robinson, Arkansas, that provides Soldiers, units, training institutions, and States with an online environment for directed learning and self-development. Trainers use GuardU to assemble, manage, deliver, and document training using instructor-led, collaborative, and self-paced learning.

Distributed Learning Classrooms (DLC)

Distributed Learning Classrooms (DLC) logoThe DL Program plans, coordinates, and manages a Federal program that provides fixed DL Classrooms nationwide with high-speed Internet, audio/visual and video teletraininsg capabilities. DLC will begin fielding mobile DL Classrooms in Fiscal Year 2011 to provide States, institutions, and units with increased flexibility to deliver training. We will also begin collaboration with TRADOC in Fiscal Year 2011 to evaluate the use of hand-held devices as another method to deliver training.

Digital Training Management System (DTMS)

Digital Training Management System (DTMS) logoThe DL Program plans, coordinates, and conducts activities to implement DTMS in the ARNG, enabling units brigade and below to plan, resource, and manage unit and individual training. We collaborate with the Army Program Manager to develop and implement Guard-specific functions and capabilities within DTMS. And we provide training and help desk support for ARNG DTMS users.
